last mountain telecast: Poetry By Dusk Dundler

TPR has a long history of collaborating with Australians. In the past, we’ve published noted antipodean poets such as John Kinsella and Louis Armand, among others. It's a tradition that continues today with Aussie poet and writer Dusk Dundler. For many, the land plays a pivotal role in their work and how they understand culture and identity. The wide spaces. The heat. The history. last mountain telecast: discusses memory and selfhood using simple but emotional language and sparse images. Disturbing and direct, it takes us on a personal journey into the heart of the poet’s experience.

Teeth Fiction By Christine Sneed

ko•an

noun, plural ko•ans,. Zen .
a story, dialogue, question, or statement, which is used in Zen-practice to provoke the “great doubt”, and test a student’s progress in Zen practice.

Koans give us hope into an insight that might shatter our weaknesses. They are weaknesses too often caused by our mental obsessions. Perhaps, it’s the curve of your co-workers lips. Or your partner’s suspected infidelities. Maybe, it’s just online poker. Real or imagined. Work or play. Take a journey into Christine Sneed’s Teeth and learn a little about what obsesses you. Just remember: Pride has teeth, but at some point you will need dentures.

Description of Lot Poetry By Richie McCaffery

Precision. Control. Abandonment. Richie McCaffery stacks his images into a complex, vivid picture, then surprises us with a strong emotional kick we never knew was building. His sparse language accommodates a wealth of visual intricacy. His intelligence allows a poignancy into his work which is neither sickly sweet nor overly melancholic. We’re proud to be showcasing this upcoming Scottish poet.

The 614th Prophet Fiction By Rena Rossner

Noah was a drunk who condemned his own grandson to slavery. Samson had a taste for meretricious women. Isaiah broke many a public decency law with his continued insistence on preaching in full nudity. Each prophet had his own path and within that path found their meaning regardless of the vineyards, brothels or other houses of temptation that might have tarried them along the way. Author Rena Rossner brings us a new prophet who – keeping in tradition – is a different kind of man of God.
